Augusta is a Mediterranean monk seal also known as Monachus monachus, that hides in the caves of a very small isle called Hytra. She makes her appearance every mid of August on a sandy beach, on the southern part of Kythera, where she gives birth to her little pups.
Monachus monachus is believed to be the world's rarest seal species and MOm is doing a great job in studying and protecting them. You can donate here!
